Forum guidelines

A few rules, kept short on purpose.

Be specific. A question with a URL, a snippet and an error message gets answered. “It doesn’t work” does not. See how to ask a good question.

Paste text, not screenshots. Code, logs and responses should be pasted as text in a code block, so others can copy, search and quote them. Remove API keys, passwords and cookies first. If you pasted a key by mistake, rotate it, because editing the post does not remove it from the history.

Scrape responsibly. We will not help with scraping that breaks a site’s law or terms in a way that harms people, gets around a login you have no right to use, or collects personal data you have no basis to hold. When in doubt, say what the data is for.

No advertising. Linking your own project when it answers the question is fine, and so is sharing it in Show and Tell. Posting links to unrelated services, or to anything that is mainly there to sell, will be removed.

Say when you are guessing. A short answer is welcome when it is right, and a guess presented as fact is not, so say when you are not sure.

Be kind. Everyone started somewhere, and the person asking the basic question today answers the hard ones next year. Disagree with the idea, not the person. Abuse, harassment and discrimination get you removed.

Keep it in the right place. One problem per topic, in the category that matches it. Moderators will move things around, and will tell you when they do.
